DTU Aqua – National Institute of Aquatic Resources – is an institute at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). DTU Aqua conducts research, provides advice, educates at university level and contributes to innovation in sustainable exploitation and management of aquatic resources. We investigate the biology and population ecology of aquatic organism, aquatic physics and chemical processes, ecosystem structure and dynamics, taking account of all relevant natural and anthropogenic drivers. In order to develop new and innovative observational technology tools based on environmental DNA (e-DNA), DTU Aqua is ideally poised to engage in this development, with diverse expertise including genetics, monitoring technology, oceanography and ecosystem based management. Likewise, DTU Aqua deals with all types of marine habitat – from the North Atlantic Ocean and Arctic areas to European shelf, coastal and inner Danish waters.
